KU Dean Applauds Congress for Restoring Upward Bound Funding
Kansas University's Karen Symms Gallagher praised Congress for re funding Upward Bound in the federal budget and urged gratitude for access to education. At the Adams Alumni Center luncheon, she noted the program assists over 680,000 students on more than 1,200 campuses and highlighted the risk of cuts. A Highland Park High School junior credited Upward Bound with developing leadership and learning skills he might not have gained at home.
