Grain crops in Douglas county are badly in need of rain says H C Colglazier county farm bureau agent. He warns that unless moisture returns soon the torn crop will be seriously damaged, with corn suffering most as it lags in growth and plants remain small under the sun. Alfalfa also may be cut short due to the dry hot weather. Public ownership of telephone systems appears to be waning in Europe as Spain Italy and Greece shift to private enterprise and Poland moves to private minority stockholding. Denmark leads in expansion of telephone systems now largely private or developed under private control.
