Rural water district weighs hiring two new staff in Kansas
VINLAND The Douglas County Rural Water District No 4 with about 925 customers plans to hire an in house maintenance worker and a part time administrator while replacing the longtime contract maintainer. Board chairman Dave McFarlane argues updated methods will save money though costs are not yet estimated. Fellow member J C Brown opposes the move saying it could cost more and that contractor John Fischer who has served 20 years knows the system best. Brown notes resumes are due July 20 and adds most customers have little awareness of the plan.
