Kansas researchers study rebar to cut costs and boost strength
Two University of Kansas civil engineers David Darwin and Steven McCabe launch a three year review of steel reinforcing bars to improve anchoring by about 20 percent while reducing rebar usage. If successful, design and construction savings could reach 10 to 100 million dollars annually.
