A wedding reported from Crested Butte Colorado records Miss Margaret Omrie marrying Fred Julian Dyer at the summer home of Dr and Mrs J S Alford in Washington Gulch. Rev Russell R Morris officiated with ring ceremony. Bride wore white georgette crepe. Guests included Dr and Mrs J S Alford and families. The bride long resided in Lawrence before moving about ten years ago.

Community Notes From Lawrence On July Activities
Ed Riling hosted a Fourth of July picnic for St. John's parish children and neighbors at West Ninth street with about sixty attendees, music by a colored quartet, and lawn ice cream. A Lindley porch party introduced University of Minnesota Dean Melvin Hagerty, who spoke at Central Ad building and will lecture in Kansas City before returning for the weekend. At Six Corners, Dr. and Mrs. James Doyles entertained several families with games and iced refreshments. Camp Shawnee honors were awarded to Carolyn Rob House and Louise Hoxie for silver Wodels. Dorothy Stewart plans a camp jaunt to Grandview. The Wallace W. CG. T.U. met at Mrs. George Petty’s. Clarence Sheets presided, with programs by several members and devotionals by Mary Mendelhall of Eureka. Next meeting will be at John Morgan’s country home. The Girls' Friendly Society will meet this evening with Miss Linnie Bryan. Marcia Baty hosted two tables of bridge at 626 Ohio St. The N.S. dancing club plans a party next Wednesday at Holcomb's grove with a dinner beforehand.

The text claims it softens and lightens the skin on face neck arms and hands without irritation and is said to be used by stage beauties for a rosy white complexion and to fade freckles sunburn and tan.
