Oklahoma Blink at Anglin Move Shocks Oklahoma

Oklahoma City July 6 AP Oklahoma, used to political shocks, bowed to the un precedented Beau geste of Tom Anglin who withdrew from the Democratic run off and handed the governorship nomination to Representative E Marland. Anglin’s action, supported by a wagon movement on Marland, leaves Marland leading by about 50 000 votes and Anglin stating he cannot ask supporters for a runoff campaign. Marland, a former oil magnate, welcomed the development as two other candidates joined the bandwagon. Murray endorsed ticket races saw varying results with several incumbents advancing to runoffs and others eliminated.
