Storms forced postponement of the Lawrence Jaycees annual fireworks show. President Mark Lehmann said the decision was made shortly before 6 45 p.m. Saturday after a hail producing thunderstorm moved through the area. The show resumes this evening at Burcham Park with gates opening at 6 p.m. and music by Prairie Fire.

Jefferson County Historical Society sketches a plan to turn John Steuart Curry's boyhood home near Oskaloosa into a full art museum.
