Baghdad bomb devastates busy shopping area
A pickup packed with a hazardous device exploded in Baghdad injuring and killing many. At least 115 people were fatally hurt as Islamic State claimed the attack. The blast occurred in the Karada district amid a recent push to drive militants from Fallujah. Iraqi officials and US figures note a shift back to extremist action as authorities condemn the attack. Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi faced a hostile reception at the scene while the White House condemned the incident.
