Walking tour to showcase Lawrence architecture styles

Lawrence firefighters responded to a car fire near the Kansas Turnpike east interchange at 10 55 p m Saturday then to a dumpster blaze at 850 Avalon at 11 11 p m. A smoke scare at Taco Bell on West 23rd reported smoke from youths using smoke bombs. Sundays calls included a controlled burn at 1685 East 1600 Road and a LifeFlight liftoff at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. A gas odor at 239 North Seventh yielded no source. Additional incidents covered grass and tree fires, an alarm malfunction at the courthouse, a grill fire, ambulance responses, auto accidents, and transfers between hospitals.
