Gunmen Kill Selves Or Each Other After Botched Gem Theft
Lawrence Massachusetts saw a downtown jewelry store holdup end in gunfire as two robbers fled after failing to loot Kay's Jewelry. They hid in a nearby attic and were found dead when police stormed the building. The owner, Robert Kay, 36, suffered head injuries but fought the gunmen and survived. Police could not identify the attackers, who appeared not to be locals.
