Taliban clash in Afghan province kills five
U S and Afghan troops battled rebels in a Taliban stronghold, killing five and capturing seven. Four others were killed in separate clashes in Uruzgan province near Daydhapan, 190 miles southwest of Kabul. A U S spokesman said one Afghan soldier was wounded as militants armed with RPGs and homemade bombs were detained. Ten defendants found guilty in pedophilia trial
A French pedophilia trial ended with 10 of 17 defendants convicted. The case involved abuse of 18 children between 1995 and 2000 at the Delay couple's apartment in Outreau near the Belgian border. Sharon signals moving barrier closer to Israel
Israel will review every kilometer of the 310 mile West Bank barrier not yet built to ensure compliance with rights and international law.
