Armed Pathet Lao guard threatens U S official in Laos

Farmer sues city over alfalfa crop loss in Lawrence
Dwane Schaake filed an $11 815 lawsuit in Douglas County District Court alleging the city of Lawrence took land leased for his alfalfa crop to build a sewage plant and caused crop loss. He seeks 1 659 for land formerly owned by Lauppe, 7 212 for land owned by Adams, and 2 944 for an alleged five acre agreement. City denied the claim and advised Schaake to pursue landowners. Assistant City Manager Mike Wildgen said he is checking the five acre contract claim.
