The Senate, by a narrow margin, approves President Trump’s substantial tax cuts and spending limits bill after a turbulent overnight session amid GOP and Democratic opposition and a tense weekend of work.
Kansas U S Sens Moran and Marshall joined fellow Republicans to back the Senate budget and tax measure aligned with President Trump’s priorities. Vice President Vance cast the tie breaking vote to move the amended bill back to the House as the chamber’s support teetered on approval.
Kansas Reflector reports that Black Hills Energy customers in Kansas could see bills rise about 9 percent, roughly $5.96 more per month for average residential use, if regulators approve a Monday settlement. Black Hills serves about 120,200 gas customers across the state.
