Lawrence man battles rare testicular cancer after move
Mat Schwenk moved to Lawrence and faced a rare form of cancer behind his breastbone. diagnosed after a CT scan and biopsy, he underwent four eight hour chemotherapy rounds at SMH Health with Dr. Jodie Barr guiding care. Side effects required transfusions and multiple ER visits as he fought to breathe and beat the disease.
