Data from the Lawrence area indicate a 4.4 percent year over year rise in town home sales through May, yet totals lag 2010 and 2011 levels. Pending sales of new homes surged 117 percent, while median price slid to 154000 and average price to 176892. Building permits fell in May, with year to date totals below last year, though multifamily permits reached a five year high.
