Emily Lamb, an 11 year old Centennial student, has organized monthly birthday celebrations at the Community Drop-In Center since April. Each party attracts up to 25 guests with cake, ice cream, prizes, karaoke, and birthday gifts. Emily started the effort to help homeless people feel celebrated with personal attention and joy.
Emily Lamb hosts a 2 p.m. July 12 birthday party for homeless at the Community Drop-in Center to raise support for a future birthday shop offering free gifts and parties. Volunteers and donations of food or gifts are welcome. First Baptist Church members have helped serve cakes and Brent Lamb notes more contributions would reduce costs.
