Airbus warns of price war with Boeing over jet deals
Airbus senior VP John Leahy warned of a price war as Boeing moves toward discounting in the multibillion dollar jet market. He said Airbus is preparing a counterattack after Boeing agreed to buy and resell up to 17 Airbus A340s from Singapore Airlines, in a 1995 deal that involved a $1.9 billion order for 10 Boeing 777s.
