The new postal rates reduce the price for each additional ounce of first class mail from 23 to 22 cents. Priority packages rise to 3.20 dollars, local newspaper mailing costs 15.7 cents, national magazines cost 29.1 cents, and basic parcel post packages increase from 2.42 to 2.74 dollars.
