Arrest in death of cat spurs cruelty charge in Douglas County
Lawrence Police booked 23 year old Brett Rizzo on a warrant for cruelty to animals after the death of a stray cat named Mama Cat. He posted a $500 bond, and the DA will prosecute in district court though the charge is a misdemeanor. The cat’s remains were found in a Dumpster at an apartment complex.
