Car Overturns on Highway. Owner Held After Attempted Sale

H L Ramsey, 70, of southeast of stegre, was found frozen in ice in a small creek a mile north of here on Jan 31. Highway Patrolman Jensen reported his car over a bridge abutment and possibly struck by an unknown vehicle. Coroner Homer believed Ramsey died near rocks in the creek bed after leaving the car.

Fear for 21 Lives After Plane Loss
Denver January 41 up hope for the lives of 21 persons aboard a missing United Air Lines transport was abandoned as an aerial search disclosed what was believed to be the wreckage high on Elk Mountain near Laramie Wyoming. Captain Frank Crismon led the search and sighted a wide sash in deep snow suggesting a crash though the plane itself was not seen. Eighteen passengers and a crew of three were aboard, including 12 Army personnel. The accident marked United’s first fatality in nearly four years.

University conductor Wiley to lead high school bands festival
