Commission approves Panel postpones action on ethics bill health care program
Topeka leaders debated a Kansas Health Benefit Program intended to replace MediKan with broader coverage for low income residents while controlling costs. The plan would insure about 18,000 more Kansans under 85 percent of the federal poverty level, limit hospital services, and maintain physician and pharmacy care. The proposal moves to the Senate Finance panel for further action as lawmakers marked the states 129th anniversary.
