A blaze in Iola Kansas last night destroyed the two story Sifers Candy Company building and threatened nearby structures. Firefighters from Chanute aided in saving the adjoining abstract company and Sleeper Furniture buildings amid -degree cold. The loss includes the offices of C L Hart and Walter Fees on the first floor. Fees, an oilman, sits on the state board of regents and long served as state Republican chairman.
