Mother Arrested After Stabbing Baby to Death
In Wister Oklahoma a 14 month old boy was stabbed to death and 10 year old Scott Houser was injured at their home. Police said Dorothy Houser, 45, widow and mother, was arrested for investigation. Scott ran to his grandmother's nearby home. The infant died from two stab wounds to the throat. Mrs Houser was found in night clothing and a house coat. Her husband Thomas Houser had died two months earlier.

Mrs Parke Woodard Dies at KU Med Center
Mrs Violet Burns Woodard aged 58 of 1743 La St died today at KU Medical Center Kansas City after surgery last May during which her heart stopped and was revived but she never fully recovered. She was active in Plymouth Congregational Church civic work and Red Cross drives. Survived by husband Dr Parke Woodard three sons Parke Woodard Jr Donald and Billy, one sister Mrs Willard Hawks and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements by Rumsey Funeral Home.

The Douglas County rural orchestra will present an 8 p.m. program Friday at Kaw Valley School with proceeds to the March of Dimes fund drive.
