Barkus parade dogs rule in New Orleans celebration
In New Orleans the Krewe of Barkus parade lit up the French Quarter with hundreds of dogs and their owners in festive costumes. Amber Scott and her boxer Roxy wore matching bee outfits while other dogs ranged from terriers to St. Bernards. Spectators enjoyed a dry, cool afternoon as dogs rode on small wagons and walked on leashes amid banners and rescue-pair participants Beau and Natty, two Dalmatians from a rescue program.
