Ex-officer given probation for DUI linked to fatal wreck

Jury convicts man in robberies and dog killing in third trial
Pierre P. Walker, 20, convicted on three counts of aggravated robbery and one count of animal cruelty after three alleged assailants robbed three Lawrencians at gunpoint near Hy-Vee Clinton Parkway Holcom Complex and West 27th Street on June 6, 2016. The dog Phoebe was killed during one robbery. Sentencing set for March 15. Walker faced three earlier hung juries. he remains jailed.
