Kansas University’s Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets contributed radar and drilling data to a Nature article unveiling the Eemian interglacial record in Greenland. The study shows the ice survived warmth 130000 to 115000 years ago but shed ice enough to raise sea levels about two meters, informing projections of future climate change.

Kansas panel backs plan to overhaul judicial selection process
Kansas lawmakers move to amend the state constitution to let the governor appoint Court of Appeals and Supreme Court justices with Senate confirmation, scrapping the attorney led nominating panel. Supporters say the current system is undemocratic and resent judicial decisions on school funding and abortion. The House Judiciary Committee passed the measure and sent it to the full House, with debate pending and conservative lawmakers seeking coalition support.
