A fierce fire swept through a handsome Buffalo, New York, building, leaving it a ruin. Firefighters battled the blaze for hours as authorities investigated the cause and assessed damage to nearby structures. No immediate report of casualties was issued in the readable text.
In Burrano, N Y a major fire at the Warner Bros building on Terrace and Pearl streets destroyed a five story brick structure housing several firms. As flames raged two firemen from engine No 4 were killed when a wall toppled onto the crew. Others were injured and rushed to hospital.
