Kansas Delegates Back Short Term Government Funding

Kansas senators Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran and representatives Roger Marshall Lynn Jenkins Kevin Yoder and Ron Estes voted for a bill funding the federal government through February 8 ending a three day partial shutdown The bill reauthorizes CHIP for six years rolls back some ACA taxes and awaits signature by President Trump.

Security concerns over Interstate Crosscheck data breach

Kansas lawmakers heard that passwords and usernames were shared via insecure emails on an Arkansas FTP server used for Interstate Crosscheck data. The 28 state database has never been breached in full, and the Arkansas lapse led to a temporary deactivation of that server. Officials stated Kansas records remain secure while noting possible liability questions and limited cases of Kansans voting illegally.
