Westar grants delay in removal of trees in park
Westar Energy will pause tree removal in Watson Park after a last minute request by the city. Chad Luce said he will attend the Tuesday city commission meeting to explain why several edge trees must be cut to protect electrical lines. City officials had considered removing about 12 trees, and last week reviewed which could be saved. The delay follows commissioners’ concerns raised at last Tuesday’s session.
