Neighbors recount June warnings by a tenant at 714 West 25th about burning the four unit building. Fire at 2:44 a.m. in a vacant ground-floor unit killed 17 year old LaTonya Farmer, with Brandy Martin, 13, dying later from smoke inhalation after accompanying her.
A weekend blaze at 714 W 25th Street Apartment 1 in Lawrence killed two teens on the second floor.
