Cincinnati reports no relief from floods with river at 62 feet, higher than past records. Lower city areas flooded and rail bridges remain the sole pedestrian link to Kentucky. Ohio river still rising at Shawneetown, levee patrolled by citizens around the clock.
The Winnipeg Flyer of the Great Northern line, southbound, left the track ten miles from Minneapolis this morning. Three coaches an observation car and two sleepers rolled over. Three passengers were injured but not seriously.
Meridian Miss Jan 14. Passenger train No 3 southbound on the New Orleans and Northeastern railroad collided head on near here last night with a northbound freight. Jobo Tewsinerr of the passenger train was killed by jumping. John a ga Carroll fireman seriously injured. Three passengers hurt slightly.
Grain prices steady with wheat at No 2 red around 7044 and No 2 white near 11. Oats mixed at 26 1 4 to 27 1 4 per bushel. Rye steady, timothy and alk alfalfa prices shown, prairie hay about 11 20 to 11 50. Creamery and packing values noted. Live stock receipts light at Cattle market around 3 60 to 6 45, unchanged from yesterday.

A Santa Fe freight train derailed as Kill Creek bridge failed east of DeSoto, killing engineer Fred Bartell and brakeman UL Shaw and the fireman. Brakeman W W Dorteh survived by climbing wreckage. Tramp rider Logue left unharmed. The wreck flooded the Kansas river and halted service. the bridge and track will be rebuilt.
Multiple denominations publish Sunday morning and evening services across Plymouth area churches. Listings include Plymouth Congregational First Church of Christ Scientist North Lawrence United Brethren First Methodist Episcopal Friends Church Unitarian St Luke's Trinity United Presbyterian First Baptist Presbyterian University MLC and Luther League events with times, sermons, Sunday schools and youth activities.

Eight young men sat the Rhodes scholarship exam at the University of Kansas. Questions came from England and answers returned in a sealed package to Oxford. The eight represent Kansas this year from various colleges with two reserved for KU and Washburn previously. winners receive 1500 dollars yearly and face no further entrance exams. A Santa Fe train No. 4 collided with freight cars near a yard in Kansas. One engineer was killed and the fireman badly scalded. both men from Newton. Early reports of multiple injuries were later corrected.

In fog four miles east of South Dundwen lightship the Red Star line steamer from New York collided with the Dundee steamer Haworth Castle. The Haworth Castle sank. three crew members are missing. The Stunderland bow was damaged below the water line but the ship is not in danger.
In Coffeyville Kansas pressure from a Kansas Natural Gas Co line broke early this morning six miles south of town. Escaping gas ignited a farm house and barn, both of which were consumed by flames.
Rainfall lashed the region washing away snow and ice in the southwest over the past two days. The downpour improved wire service traffic from Kansas City across the plains, though interruptions persist. More than two inches of rain drenched western Missouri and eastern Kansas, altering travel and communication conditions.

J J O Rourke and G F Morrow, owners of the Throop hotel in Topeka, secured a ten year lease on the Jones hotel in Guthrie Oklahoma. The new structure costs 125000 and will be fireproof and modern. O Rourke, previously a beaker in El Reno, will reside in Guthrie. Morrow once owned the English hotel in Indianapolis and controlled the Carey hotel in Wichita.
Funeral services for Miss Marjorie McKinzie are planned for 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at West Lawrence Mission Church. The Rt. Rev. Frank R. Millspaugh will visit Trinity Church on Sunday, preach, and administer confirmation at 10:30 a.m. Also noted is the Boyles school paper at 725 Mass. St.
