Kansas pursues biodefense facility
Kansas state and local officials push to host a 451 million 500000 square foot biosafety level 4 biodefense lab. The project would employ about 250 scientists and be jointly run by Homeland Security Agriculture and Health and Human Services. Leaders cite economic and biosecurity benefits and plan to form a task force with the Bioscience Authority.
