Losses Put At 100000 In Baldwin Fire At Madl Implement

Fire at the Madl Implement Company in Baldwin caused an estimated 100000 in losses. The 100 by 40 foot quonset hut building housing five tractors and baling twine burned, with two tractors moved to safety. Damage partly covered by insurance and rebuild planned at the same site. The blaze started possibly from faulty wiring and was fought by Baldwin volunteers.

Six Die In Kansas City Paseo Bridge Wreck

A three car crash on the Paseo bridge over the Missouri River Sunday night killed six people and injured three others. The southbound car borne by the Thompsons and Leonard Snow’s group perished in the impact with a northbound station wagon that swerved across the divider. Injured were Robert Catshall 36 and Bill Terry 29 in the station wagon. Leonard Snow 20 was hospitalized critically. Colin Cornett 31 and Kathryn Cornett 19 were involved in the third car.
