Gospel of cows and dairy co op praised at Kansas convention
A Kansas agricultural convention speaker H J Meierkord of Washington County Co Operative Creamery described dairy farming as the soundest chapter in food farming. He cited year round diversification, cash returns weekly, and a rise in per person milk use from 22 gallons in 1890 to about double today. Businessmen in Linn backed the cooperative, noting the creamery eliminates store charge accounts and highlighting Kansas’ prominence in dairy excellence.
