Noah Born From Katrina Rescued Embryo in Louisiana
Noah Benton Markham, born by Caesarean at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, weighs 8 pounds 6 1/2 ounces. The baby arose from a frozen embryo saved during Katrina’s flood as rescuers moved the tanks containing embryos from Lakeland Hospital in New Orleans. Father Glen Markham and mother Rebekah celebrated a long-awaited birth while relatives recalled the miracle. The child’s older brother Witt, two, watched and kissed him as relatives praised the family’s persistence and the lab’s role in the survival story.
