Northeast Storm Keeps Rain and Snow Moving Inland

Winter storm totals across Rye and western regions in 1987
On this date in 1987 a winter storm dumped 6 inches of snow at Rye Colorado and gusts reached 100 mph in Utah. Tulsa, Oklahoma reported 14 inches of snowfall while Texas received 16 inches. Western Oklahoma saw up to 14 inches.

Homeless count planned in Sedgwick County tally effort
Sedgwick County together with the United Way of the Plains seeks the largest homeless census yet to measure those living under overpasses, in cars, or in shelters. The grant request totals about 1.91 million dollars, funding a four hour shift survey on January 23 and 24 with 160 volunteers across shelters and outdoor settings.
