A Jap lieutenant guarding a roadblock was surprised when a polished 1940 car rolled onto the scene, signaling the capture of the first American-made automobile on Luzon. The 4 2 mortar aids in Pacific battles, notably silencing tankettes near Port Sual. Filipinos value army clothes and rations over money, trading them for food and labor.
