Antelope Transplant Try Fails In Flint Hills Experiment
Kansas biologists failed to trap and move a herd of about 30 antelope to the Flint Hills near Strong City. The effort, using a nylon net and airplane, collapsed when the antelope panicked and dispersed after the plane passed over.

Drive Against Tossed Objects Threatens Surveillance Push
L W Newcomer chief engineer of the Kansas Turnpike Authority told the authority and State Highway Director John Montgomery that the public must aid surveillance to stop bricks thrown from overpasses. A Nebraska woman was killed and a Sedgwick County deputy sheriff injured by bricks in the Wichita area around Christmas. Newcomer said further precautions have been taken but cannot be disclosed.
