Robbery Suspect Cleared Here in McCracken Case
Lawrence police released Joseph Winders of Nashville after the Kansas Bureau of Investigation failed to identify him as the McCracken bank robber. Winders was arrested Tuesday en route from Independence to Hutchinson via Lawrence, found with $30.71, while $2,500 was taken in Rush County. FBI questioned him and McCracken residents were to identify the bandit. he was charged with vagrancy and given 10 days in jail, to be released if not identified.
