Kaw River Erodes Abutting Farm Land Near Lake V.W.
The Kaw river is eroding farm land near Lake View, northeast of the lake, with over two thirds of a 20 acre tract gone and another strip reduced. Landowners include Christine Brune, Owen Mitchell, and LeRoy Fleming. Floods since 1903 and especially the past summer accelerated the erosion. Buildings on multiple parcels are endangered as banks shrink to within 30 feet of houses and the Lecompton road.
