Lawless led MSO crews before the storm applying 30000 gallons of brine on five lane Iowa Street then switching to sand and salt for 101 continuous hours from noon Saturday Jan 4 to 5 pm Wednesday Jan 8. Over 40 staff daily plus 16 plow trucks moved 1800 2000 tons of material to keep arterial routes open against dozens of crashes and stranded motorists.
