Peaslee Tech reaches refinance deal on $1M debt
Twelve local banks led by Emprise Bank agreed to refinance the Dwayne Peaslee Technical Training Center mortgage with a seven year loan and annual $200000 principal payments. The plan may shift the burden to county taxpayers for seven years while the balloon debt is retired by 31st Street and Haskell Avenue building. County commissioners approved a $200000 annual contribution last year and plan to continue if the budget allows.

DA weighs charges in fatal July wreck near Lawrence
