Docking pushes expansion of KUMC doctor program
Gov. Docking unveiled a plan to expand the University of Kansas Medical Center training facilities by 30 percent by 1974. He proposes shifting from 64 million in revenue bonds to 28.1 million from general revenue, saving about 57 million in bond interest over 30 years. The move would add classrooms and boost medical school enrollment from 154 to 163 in 1973 and 200 in 1974, with Wichita, Garden City, Topeka, Great Bend, and Concordia expanding training programs.
