Portland Express Crash Kills and Injures Many

A Boston to Portland express derailed near Bradford on the Merrimac, killing several and injuring dozens. The smoking car and two passenger cars were wrecked, with victims including Mrs. C. P. Good man and a child from Kennebunk. Governor Larrabee urged temperance measures in his address to the legislature. A separate note reports a New York Elevated Railway bond issue of 15 million dollars approved in a special meeting.

The Paris chamber of deputies opened with secretary Puerre Blanc presiding. Floyuet was re elected president by 258 to 48 in the chamber. In the senate Caroot, son of President Carnot, chaired as Congress favored peace and respect for laws. Ottawa session delayed to Feb 23 amid fisheries talks.

Garfield Farm Wealth and Probate Details in Mentor

The Garfield estate near Mentor shows substantial outlays at the Mentor farm with additions and high plumber bills totaling about 19 000.
