Manly delegates gather in Denver for the annual National Live Stock association session. President Frank Hagen garth delivers the address as about a thousand delegates attend. In Marseilles a nail steamer report claims a Russian colonel and three troops were killed in an attack on Mongolia. In Emporia a leading butcher, John Wind, is found dead, believed killed by robbers during the night.

Delegation from Oklahoma in Washington organizes meeting

A delegation from Oklahoma and Indian Territory arrived in Washington this morning and, after a noon meeting at the National hotel, organized their group. In Colorado poetic news, the grand jury returned thirty one new indictments charging fraud in connection with the recent election.

Fire destroys Miller block and post office in Olathe

A fire started last night in the Miller block threatening the business district and was controlled by 3 a.m. with Kansas City apparatus arriving. Losses range from 60 000 to 75 000, with New York Racket store hardest hit at 97 000 and Samuel t s general merchandise at 18 000. J B Brown Sons books and office spaces above also damaged. post office destroyed.

Mystery cleared up in Louis street bullion robbery case

In East St Louis on May 10 police say William Hurroughs George Rodgers and William Majors confessed to robbing a 24 400 shipment of silver bullion from El Paso Smelting to the U S Mint Philadelphia. Part recovered next day. remainder allegedly used in a lead foundry sold for a penny a pound. Junk dealer Felberbaum of St Louis arrested for receiving stolen property.

Unsuccessful attempt to destroy statue of Frederick the Great

Civilians tried to blow up the statue donated by the German emperor at the war college grounds. An explosive charge with a lighted fuse was attached to a surrounding fence but removed by an employee before detonation. No damage occurred and prompt measures aim to detain the perpetrators while police continue the investigation.

A severe blaze in Arkundak City Kansas on January 10 destroyed the Colorado block a four story structure housing offices and stores.
