Concrete goes in on Vermont street block by block
Concrete pouring began this morning on Vermont street S00 blocks, finishing much of the east side by late afternoon. Crews expect to complete the west side tomorrow with five Model A Ford mixers delivering pre mixed concrete. Heat is used to set concrete in about three to four hours, lighter than six without heat. Reinforcement meshes and dowel joints run the length of the strips with steel rods every five feet. A twelve man crew works today while the operation moves along on schedule.
