Two Lawrence Officers Injured In High Speed Chase
Two Lawrence police officers were injured nonfatally during a Saturday morning pursuit of Nelson L. Higgins, 50, of Lawrence, after his Dodge pickup struck a patrol vehicle during a traffic stop. Higgins fled west on 23rd Street and south on Iowa, then on US 59 to I-35 where he lost control and was arrested. One officer received minor injuries during arrest.
