Nine state corrections officers allege Denny’s discrimination
Nine Everglades Correctional Institution officers, six black and three white, filed a discrimination complaint after being turned away from a Denny’s restaurant in Spartanburg. A manager said the restaurant had run out of food and asked them to leave, prompting calls to a toll free number for headquarters and to a civil rights monitor referenced in a 1994 Denny’s case.

Mystery Galactic Center Harbors Massive Black Hole
Astronomers report strong evidence that the Milky Way’s core houses a black hole weighing up to 2.6 million suns. Nearby stars race at millions of miles per hour while Sagitarrius A remains nearly stationary, supporting the black hole scenario. Another black hole, nicknamed Old Faithful, near the far side of the galaxy, emits jets every 30 minutes.

Flood risk assessed from possible asteroid hit
An asteroid three miles wide striking the Atlantic could generate a 300 foot wall of water that would devastate the upper East Coast. Los Alamos researchers estimate a 2 to 3 percent 100 year chance of such a coastal flood from a Pacific or Atlantic impact. Delaware to Virginia would be inundated while New York and Honolulu would face major flooding.
