Topeka Man Injured After Motorcycle Crash in Jefferson County
A 33 year old Topeka man, Paul D. Klemme Jr., was thrown from his motorcycle after a rear end collision while eastbound on Kansas Highway 4 near 46th Street north of Grantville. He was taken to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka. officials offered no late night condition update. The incident occurred Sunday evening as emergency calls recorded no responses from Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical.

VNA seeks land for hospice center in Douglas County
Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association asks county commissioners to donate land behind the United Way offices at 2518 Ridge Court for a new hospice. The board will meet VNA reps this morning to discuss the request and possible campaign to raise funds for construction. Also on agenda: extend East 350 Road right of way in Kanwaka Township and amend Livengood Estates zoning from agriculture to suburban home, approved in 2006 subject to subdivision conditions. Meeting at 8:30 a.m. on the courthouse second floor.
