Miss Lydia McDonald of Lawrence vanished in Denver on December 24 and was found dead on a ranch near Aurora. Authorities say she died of exhaustion after taking on a sequence of hard nursing cases, not foul play. Identification was made by her brother Ira McDonald. burial arrangements follow in Lawrence. Leavenworth 102 year old Nathan Loar dies
Nathan Loar aged 102, a Mexican and Civil War veteran, died at his Leavenworth home after a short illness. Born October 14, 1821 in Boone County Kentucky, he lived on a Kentucky farm, later moving to Ohio. He is survived by four sons, two daughters, 49 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren.
